Jimboomba Community Kindergarten’s History

 
The Jimboomba Community Kindergarten began operation in 1981 in the Jimboomba Community Centre rented from the Beaudesert Shire Council. A dedicated group of parents set out to establish a new permanent building on the adjacent block of land, leased to the Association by the Council. A Federal Grant of $66,360 was awarded to the Association, along with smaller grants from Beaudesert Shire council, and the Qld Education Department. The shortfall was made up with a $20,000 bank loan and a huge amount of fundraising by local families. The result is our wonderful centre, over the years extra amenities and resources have been added by the continued hard work and planning of our Parent Management Committees and Families. We have been successful in acquiring various grants over the years which have allowed us to improve the facilities and purchase big ticket items, such as air conditioning and upgrade our kitchen and bathroom. We have become increasingly sustainable with grants for water tanks and solar panels.
